Stacie Curtis and Industry Experts, Regulators Talk Offshore Wind Power at IRWA Forum

Stacie Curtis, president and founder of the real estate services firm CW Solutions, moderated a panel discussion on offshore wind development that included industry experts and state regulators at the recent gathering of the International Right of Way Association Region 4.

Gov. Phil Murphy is focused on setting New Jersey on a path to 100% clean energy by 2050, which includes increasing the state’s offshore wind capacity to 7,500 megawatts by 2035. Last month, NJDEP issued construction permits for New Jersey’s first offshore wind project, Ocean Wind 1, located in the Atlantic Ocean about 15 miles southeast of Atlantic City.

The IRWA Region 4 event on May 15 at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City brought together professionals from IRWA chapters in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, and New England states.

Curtis said CW Solutions has been actively collaborating with offshore wind industry leaders and has been afforded the opportunity to be part of groundbreaking renewable energy projects.

“IRWA events such as these foster a better understanding in our communities on how technology is evolving to provide us with a more eco-friendly future,” Curtis said.

Curtis moderated the panel which included: Dr. Zenon Christodoulou, commissioner of the state Board of Public Utilities; John Kuehne, director of Legal & Commercial – NJ Wind Port & Infrastructure at the NJ Economic Development Authority; Erick Ford, vice president of Stevens & Lee Public Affairs, and Richmond Young, director of development of Rise Light & Power.

There has been rapid progress at the future New Jersey Wind Port, which is on track to start providing power in 2024. When complete, the wind port will be the first purpose-built marshaling and manufacturing hub for the offshore wind industry in the country.
